Episode two and three were by far the weakest ones mostly because they were still largely introductory. More importantly though, they didn't go hard on the 'friendship/happiness out of misfortune' themes yet during those parts.
In retrospect, I think fondly of the first few episodes because I appreciate the journey the characters went through and it shows how much they've grown but if you've just started watching it, I can see a lot of people finding those two episodes really hard to go through.
Kinda cute show with cute eye-catches. And episode 4 with that silver-haired girl and her friend as kindergartners was really adorable.
But even so, I can understand why it wouldn't really entice too many otaku into buying the BDs for it. It's just kinda okay. Perhaps merchandise and manga volumes might receive a nice sales boost, but if the anime does adapt the manga source material faithfully enough, I wouldn't be too interested in it.
