It gets interesting and then it drags on forever. The battles in particular get boring as fuck. The dialogue can be interesting when they are discussing their opinions on politics instead of anything plot related.The most memorable part is the episode where they give a history lesson explaining the degeneracy of our current times and how things got from there to where they are now in the story.

Just got to this episode last night. Made me kek hard.
They should make a new PC game for LOGH. I really enjoyed the 2008 one, but the scale in custom battles felt a bit restricted and having more ships/space to maneuver in and possibility to play multiplayer would be nice.

No it's not. But then again an enlightened autocrat (if such a thing even exist, I personally don't think anyone can do a good job at politics by themselves, the team around them is perhaps more important than the guy himself) happens like once in 2000 years of a country's history. It's not worth the backward form of government. Not like it matters anyways, since tyrants usually manage to take all the power for themselves no matter what that form is.

The Norse Gods shit triggers me very hard. It's one of the reasons I stopped watching 2 times. A civilisation so advanced that they mastered FTL space travel, you expect them to be either all euphoric and needing no phone blessings, or espousing some very complicated religion, to a great degree merged with philosophy and science (like Teilhard's stuff for instance).
Dune is also a case of this, but a milder one, since it's clear that Bene Gesserit just pussywhip everyone into obscurantism because it suits them. By the way, who would win in a fight, Paul or Reihard?

I doubt they're actually devout pagans. It's more for ceremony, the Empire is pompous as fuck after all. Calling on Odin before battle is more for troop morale than hoping for any sort of actual divine intervention.
And Paul would probably win in most situations, even a fleet battle depending how far in the story we are.

Not wanting to go into offtop, but I always assumed Paul was too much of a Mary Sue in the post-Arrakis jihad business and his military success is largely unexplained. Sure, Fremen are badasses and worship him like a god, but from a sheer ecological standpoint, it's impossible for them to be numerous enough (what with living in harsh environment and being genocided by Harkonnens for centuries before Paul showed up) to pwn all the galaxy. There's always Sardaukar who he presumably hijacked, but then again, it's dubious that all the Sardaukar, even those who were never on Dune, are suddenly loyal to Paul. But perhaps it's just been too long since I read Dune and I'm forgetting something.
If it's a space naval battle I think Reinhard would win, because we haven't even seen Paul do anything in space, he has experience of ground combat mostly, as far as I remember.
