Prince is a false ideal. Even the perfect prince Dios couldn't keep it up. Utena didn't save Anthy by being a prince, and neither did any of the previous aspiring princes in earlier cycles (Utena, Touga and co were not the first time this game was played). Instead she managed to reach Anthy with her true feelings and Anthy walked out herself.
It was an illusion. There's even an idiom about that.
Utena was real. And she grew up. She had no place in Akio's fantasyland anymore.

I don't think it was necessarily a false ideal, but definitely an undesirable one, as the one playing prince had to give himself up entirely for the sake of an entitled population.
The reason why Dios failed was because he didn't want to sacrifice himself for Anthy's sake. Utena was different in that she was actually willing to sacrifice herself in the end, and she somewhat did. However, this time, when Utena tried to save Anthy, the latter wasn't yet ready to leave Akio's world.

I always took Miki's stopwatch to represent his obsession with the past. He longs to return to the relationship he had with Kozue before she became a massive whore, and a stopwatch is the easiest symbol for this, it measures time after all.
Also he is the secretary for the student council so he probably takes the minutes when they're throwing knives at each other or something.

It's more that cars represent adolescence and the growth into adulthood. Cars are like human bodies in that they're complex things that will take you whre you need to go, but without a 'key', a goal or aspiation in other words, to get you their they just rust away. The movie is half simple pseudo-deep imagery (Touga drowned lol) and meaningless bullshit that looks nice.
Akio losing his keys to the jazzmobile is definitely one of my favorite scenes though.

This is how I understood some metaphors. In the black rose arc, the scenes where sexually frustrated characters, violently pull the swords out of the ones they have a one side crush on, is a metaphor for rape.
Saionji had sex with wakaba when he stayed at her room. Utena had sex with akio in the famous scene, but she also had sex with touga, when they visited the dueling arena at night, and she also had sex with akio after the horse ride.
Everyone who rode in the akio car got sexed. If there were 2 people in the back, then they did it. Also, juri got fucked by that blue haired, creepy guy.
Also, I might be reading too much into this, but I have a little suspicion that akio had his way with utena, before they met. Namely in the episode where utena and anthy switch bodies. Nanami went to india to get the curry, and she must have been away for at least a week. We all know who anthy visits on Saturday. Anthy showing up in akios place with the body of the most special girl in school. I dont think Akio kept his hands away. He might have not taken utenas virginity, but I'm sure they did some things (anal? Oral?)
