Hard to say. It was shit until they started the tournament arc, then It went from shit to 5/10 and now from what I've seen from Future Trunks arc It's 6/10. I'm a fan of OG DB and DBZ so at least I hope It gets better.

In terms of quality and character development the Cell arc is above all, but the Buu sagas were more intense and edgy overall, I actually like them best. Plus it was cool to see how people in the real world would deal with the superpowered fuckery, we got a taste in the Cell Games arc

You can hold that opinion if that's what you feel anon, but I believe the opposite on the basis that they're both about equally bad in the writing department, but on most other aspects they can be judged GT is anywhere from a little better to vastly superior.
And this is not to say GT is good. GT is quite bad. Simply that it did things, like music, art, character design and animation better than Super has.
So to get a better a Dragon Ball Super experience, i should watch the two movies.

Z had never had characters that truly mattered after the arc they were introduced in with the sole exception of Gohan. Meanwhile Super has Beerus, Whis, Zenou and likely Hit as well.
Zs arcs also always follwed the same scheme: Overpowered villain gets introduced, Z fighters train, someone of the Z fighters defeat him, repeat. Meanwhile Super had various different arc structures, like one which ended with the villain actually winning but deciding to not destroy earth, one tournament arc that was not won by one of the Z fighters and one quick arc, where the villain was defeated without any training specifically to beat him.
Literally the only thing that is truly shittier in Super is the animation, but the plot is far better than Zs.

The retelling of the movies arcs were shit and went on far too long, Bog as a movie was good but the arc was shit and revial of F was fucking stupid in the movie and arc because I did not the concept at all.
The filler bits such as clone vegeta have been stupid as well.
So far I really like the tournament arc and I am liking this new one, so far these are the only arcs where I was excited to see dragon ball super in my torrent client feed instead the usual oh fuck I gotta watch this crap sometime this week.
Reminds me of DBZ to be honest and I know some people here will take that as the ultimate sacrilege but you guys gotta rewatch DBZ there was a whole lot of nothing going on in that too.
Fuck didn't it take Freeza ten episodes to blow up a planet in ten minutes and whats worse, rewatching DBZ made me notice theres a lot standing around, panning to each characters face as they say something or just go hmmm.

There are some episodes in DB where nothing happened but in One Piece it was always: 5 min Intro, People running around, Donflamingo got angry wiht this stupid squishy Sound when his veins pumped, 5 times per Episode, Luffy sfreaming "Mingo" every 10 meter he run, Donflamingo laughing about nothing 5 times per Episode, Ussop got scared, a Little bit Story most time something realy stupid and you have to wait another week to get less than a minute of story.
