CLAMP stories always had pretty dumb elements thrown into them, but it was exacerbated by running two weekly series at the same time which is where I'm convinced their "modern CLAMP sucks" reputation comes from. Clear Card Arc is monthly, and so was the original CCS series, I'm cautiously optimistic. If worst comes to worst you can just pretend it doesn't exist.
