Compare Ryuko's final speech to Simon's final speech. GL's final message was that proper evolution involves mixing the teachings of your elders together with the ideas of the youth; his "past and present weaving together a double helix to pierce a path towards tomorrow" speech PERFECTLY summarized that message. KLK, meanwhile, was nonsense.

I think Genndy Tartakovsky is behind the new Jack and it's advertising itself with some pretty gory artwork. It will likely be pretty different from PPG which turned into "nonthreatening, bubbly, round, social justice Tumblr comic"-style.
The best argument against the new PPG art style I've come across while watching "why newPPG sucks" videos out of boredom was that the old show was visually interesting because it was a bunch of round, cutesy girls living in a threatening, pointy, angular world. In the new show EVERYTHING has a "so cute uwu" hipster comic look.
