I looked over the last episode again. The last colored thing we see is Sena looking at the opening gate. Then it shows the glass of water from the OVA (ova is instrumentality world) and every from that point is black invite, probably implying that Gennai's plan worked.
Seeing Hattori get some sort of comeuppance is great. Thanks.
