I don't exactly know how you can call it filler when the whole series is about Ainz being a leader and the entire volume is him doing leader shit. He had two negotiations, there was the whole parallel between him and Jircniv, and the ML fight at the end to keep things HYPE.
I think its really well balanced. Compared to nine I think the series feels like it has an actual direction after the pissing around that was 4, 7, and 8. If anything, those were the filler/standalone volumes.

Well, like I said, Ainz's spells would rek ML instantly. And spell storing in D&D is limited to level 3 spells or so. This is quite consistent with how they're shown in OL, where you can stick a fireball or lightning spell into them but not anything stronger.
The main advantage is that you can put magical hurt on someone who can't be beaten by whatever you're stabbing them with.

Keep in mind, spell storing wasnt in Yggdrasil. You can enchant a sword to have fire attribute, but not for it to cast Fireball on its own.
