There is another manga he did (or a similiar horror mangaka) about a region where each year, a woman from each village is killed as a sacrifice. They are then stuffed with something and have their mouths sewn shut, with a plug stuffed in the ass.
During the spring, the bodies are put in a river and the plugs pulled from their asses. The pent up gas i their insides propels them forward and the first corse to reach the finish line wins.

Can't really even say why. I think I just read it at the right time in my life or something. I remember even being disappointed that the story didn't really go where I was hoping it would, but it's better the way it is.
