Not subtle enough in its exploitation of the girls.
Like two episodes in, out of nowhere Prez swoops back in, sets everything right, and POOF. All the tension, all the suspense, and all the reason to keep watching vanish. Then it becomes just another generic idol anime but with 100x the QUALITY.
Movie subs when?
Had one of the worst cases of sameface in recent times and that's saying a lot.
My only regret is I wish it had more song performances and that they would be uninterrupted by the story. There were only two in the TV series.

Bland character designs.
Yamakan tried to go against the Tokyo idol industry that mass-produces hollow plastic dolls. If he had just waited, he could've seen cinderella girls do that for him--not even idol otaku seem to give a shit about idolm@ster's bloated cast of shitty, boring new girls.

I admire the effort, I really do; but idol anime productions need to be lavish, and only a few have the resources to pull it off.
Yamakan's originals have really corny plot developments.
