Why isn't there more reverse isekai?
It's fundamentally less self insertable than regular isekai.
The real world requires better writing skills to get an interesting story.
And it's counter-intuitive as escapism is about escaping the real world. I would argue that reverse isekai is not escapism at all, au contraire.

Because it's difficult to explain the differences between the different world and this world if you don't show the different world.
ie. It's fun to see how different other worlds are since we know what our world is like. If we don't know what the characters world is like, how can we see the disparity between ours and theirs?
