What is your view on having a waifu? Do you think of the waifu as a manifestation of the ideals that Plato described, which you value but not actually feel involved in romantic love? As one fictional character which you know isn't real but still see as a romantic goal? Or a presence that exist and/or is close to you?
Similarly, what do you think of people that do not have a wafu? Or those that have given up the idea of having a waifu, despite possibly only had one "proper" waifu when they were involved in the idea?

I can't really express my own point of view, but I think it's something like if you get asked which anime girl is your waifu and you only can think of one, despite having seen many other anime/manga/VN/game girls. I think that determines that it's a waifu for you, and not having like one for every show or season. Then again it's only my personal interpretation and it's subjective.

For me it's a mix of the two, I know she's not real and I don't consider myself in an actual relationship with her, but she's always on my mind, worship and fantasy take a lot of my time, and I recognise my own feelings as genuine. I know this varies a lot with waifufags though and some have full on fantasy relationships which they consider legitimate.
