Pretty important characters in the prequel. Asuna was originally the only holder of magic cancel, i.e. the white of mars, and was used by the MotB to try to destroy Mars.
Nodoka and Yue are best friends with each other and old companions with Negi. As proof of their partnership with Negi, they were given artifacts. Nodoka can read minds with that book of hers, whereas Yue's book basically has all knowledge at her fingertips.
