Hisoka would have instantly recognized them. He hangs around Illumi all the time. During the Election Arc, he was noting the nice aura it was giving off. Besides, Illumi's puppets move more jerkily and erratically. It may just be a drawing mistake.

I have no idea how Chrollo accomplished this, but Koltopi seems extremely unlikely. If it was Koltopi who created them, Chrollo would have no idea where they are. He would have manually sift through the entire crown placing Order Stamps on the desired puppets. That makes even less sense.

Why are you trying to overcomplicate this? The explanation given during the fight makes perfect sense. He just ordered a puppet to crouch down and place the seals together. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

So you think it's possible for Chrollo to want to mislead Hisoka about one thing, but not another? You don't think he could lie about stealing abilities, or the bookmark? If he had other people helping, he would have literally no choice but to go out of his way to explain how he can use more than one ability at once. The bookmark and the book being able to use post nen death are both new concepts with no real confirmation other than Chrollo's words, so their legitimacy are up in the air.

It means there are new members, and since there were new abilities at play in the fight, it is possible they were involved.
Anyway, like I said, it's all just speculation and I am not sure of anything in the first place. There are many strange things about the fight and the way it's written, and if it was a group effort it wraps up several issues more neatly than assuming Togashi is dumb and draws needles incorrectly or something like that. The conversation with Machi makes it seem like Hisoka has realized the importance of choosing his opponents- which implies there were opponents other than Chrollo, and it would be weird to refer to puppets that way. It could be something different, maybe something to do with new conditions Chrollo set for himself, but I just don't think it can be taken at surface value just because you don't want 'Hisotards' implying Chrollo isn't some noble, honorable warrior who'd never trick anyone.

It's a shame the royal guard's brains were wired to permanently kiss Meruem's ass until death. Their nen abilities were insane, especially Youpi. would have been amazing to see how youpi vs Chrollo turned out.

Either way, hisoka still has the upper hand in a fight against swordless feitan because he can use his transmutation off the bat rather than having to take damage before usage. Until he takes damage (Which Hisoka would be sure to make a killing blow) he has to rely on 60% mastered enhancement skills as far as we know
