There was always moral swapping in D&D, but it was meant to be the exception, not the rule, so it's one good Lich, not ALL of them. And then there were some special monsters built around it.
It used to be possible for a monster to reform, and there was an entire class based on that. Sure, Evil could stain your soul, but if you had the initiative to change your ways, the Clerics had bleach for that. There were also the Deathless, who were the skeletons and mummies of goodguys who just didn't want to quit. But that's more like Good versions of skeletons and zombies.

They now know almost exactly how the rooms are defended and the general weaknesses/strats for each guardian, the supreme beings other than Ainz are no longer there to help with early defense like they used to, they've had multiple years for some other asshole to spam victim bomb and learn how to adjust it. They may have years more experience at the game and any new playstyle changes than Momonga since he stopped really playing and focused on maintenance for the guild. They have possibly years of gear inflation. Keep in mind that the giant raid was mostly blind a well.
All of that combined can easily turn something that 1500 couldn't beat into farmable by a small group.
I get that it's probably not going to happen in this book but it's an entirely plausible scenario for the good players to be even stronger at the end of the game and especially when all the hidden info got publicly released for people to min/max the glorious build of their dreams to wear before the server shuts down.

Imagine if you didn't lose exp, didn't lose items when dying with no open PvP. Then richfags would never lose, ever. Even when they die they wouldn't be affected since they can just restock on their cash items.
At least with this system they can still lose a prominent piece of equipment.
