All Might still has a huge place in the story. As a UA teacher and Deku's mentor. He will go into more detail about OfA's past users and why they help Deku out. Plus it's an interesting plotline to see AM go from #1 Hero to quirkless teacher. He's the only character that saves this series from mediocrity so far, I fail to see why everyone wants him dead.

That's retarded, Deku doesn't need a ticking clock to learn to control his quirk better. Obviously he can see how All Might handle One for All better and would want to imitate him, if only because, even if you can get healed after, it still hurt really bad to get your arm broke through a concussive shock.
And most of Deku's troubles when he was in a tough situation come from the fact that he can only throw a limited number of full-power blows and if he misses, he's done. So even if he could recovers quickly, in a fight, it won't help him much.
It's true that he'll probably be more eager to train with OfA, but apart from training Full Cownl under Torino and two panels with Tiger, we never saw him train, right?

All Might's goal since we met him has been to find a successor and train them up to be worthy enough to wield OFA. It'• why he originally started teaching at U.A. He hasn't really done anything for Deku. This has been acknowledged by both himself and Torino. He's even the kind of teacher that needed cue cards.
