Why don't people realize that this is a fight to death, permanent death. Not Hisoka's fault he was underestimated and they failed to finish the job. To Hisoka the fight is still going because they are both still alive. By killing Phantom Troupe members he is weakening Chrollo by taking those powers out of his playbook. The problem is getting a power to replace kortopi. That being said not sure why anyone thinks Chrollo needs to do the same strategy. He was able to come up with a strategy that was flawless using only 4 skills

But again, it doesn't really matter. The impact and entertainment value of something come first, and that's why I can call Naruto shit without mentioning asspulls. All it would take to 'fix' an asspulls is add a line in an earlier chapter to confirm it's a possibility, so it hardly affects the actual enjoyment of a story.

The Spiders for the most part are all incredibly likeable. I liked Shalnark, but honestly Kortopi didn't have much going on. I figured he'd eventually get the Bonolenov treatment where we'd learn more about him in a post-Yorkshin arc and he'd be really cool. When I read the spoiler that Hisocuck would use his properties of BOTH rubber and gum to survive the explosions, I was assuming it would be like the effect of Saitama's normal chain punch unto Boros in One Punch Man.
Like how Boro's body flew into pieces but then quickly pulled it self together again. That's what I had in mind for Hisocuck and it was plausible since the properties of both rubber AND gum became stronger at the moment of his death. Not this "I pulled myself together again hours later. Ignore the blood loss, damaged tissue, fucked up organs and all that". And it was too convenient that all of Hisokakka's pieces were near each other and perfectly accounted for.

At this point, I severely doubt it. This fight was basically Hisoka's character development. His ego was hit, his body is in shambles, he fought Chrollo, one of the strongest characters, at his 100% (with prep-time) and survived, now its Hisoka's turn to wreak fucking havok.
Throw in Dark continent shenanigans, his still fated encounter with Gon, and his reputation and he's fucking solid for this next arc.
Meanwhile, Chrollo is primed and readied to be killed by either Kurapika or Hisoka.
