Yes, yes I know "it sounds like shit" but honestly Touma and Mikoto defending something could easily lead to something happening. Misaki being involved is honestly a surprise. I wonder if she'll actually do something or just be bait/eye candy for shippers and waifu fags.
Even if it CAN lead somewhere interesting, the premise doesn't seem to fit.
Reminder the swimsuits thing could also be some sort of dream/hallucination or even the Dream Ranker cards making their way into the main series
Well this is certainly a surprise. It does sound terribly out of place and as though it's brushing NT15 aside. But we have no other information on it. For all we know this is a dream Mikoto has before waking up and starting the real plot.

When you look at the whole picture, it's not a romance narrative, it's an emotionally unstable, obsessed girl with inferiority complex chasing after uninterested guy who has never seen her in romantic light and has her exact opposite as an image of the perfect girl.

That isn't really the main problem. It's the fact that we've been dealing with the same jokes, settings, and types of scenes in both Index and Railgun. When it eventually goes to England, it will again have the same shitty jokes, scenes, and settings we've seen already. Just this time with a slightly less overused setting. Somehow Kamachi manages to make it feel incredibly stale in almost every aspect of the series yet also seem to just thrown random shit that will be forgotten a volume or two later. He needs to pump out another Simple series to get that out of his system and actually put an effort into this instead of just shitting out tons of LN volumes. I don't know how someone can manage making the art of throwing random shit onto paper so stale and dull. Even the misleading gimmick preview is old and overdone now. Nobody is actually buying it like they used to. Even Misaki baiting and ship baiting in recent volume previews/covers didn't convince many more people to buy it.
