She's just a straight-faced brocon with absolutely no other distinguishing traits. I have no idea what people like about her. She's such a fucking bland trope that the show didn't need.
Tanaka-kun started out as a great show about friendship, cliques, trying to control the way people perceive you, and learning to be comfortable in your own skin. All the characters had a bit of this, with little mini character arcs.
But Rino is just a brocon. That's it. There's nothing else going on with her, and she totally saps out everything that was good and heartwarming about this show. More importantly, she steals screen time from the other, actually interesting characters that I want to know more about.
Seriously, fuck Rino. Bring back the classmates.
