I never saw this fight animated, is it worth watching? Based off the manga my favorite Arrancar fight was Nnoitra vs Zaraki. Too many times the fights turned into explanations of convoluted abilites, I like that Nnoitra and Zaraki generally lack complicated abilities and just hack at each other.
I even remember thinking that Nnoitra released form was underwhelming until the fight actually got underway, at which point I realized its pretty awesome because unlike so many abilities and released forms in Bleach it lends itself to a good ole fashion hack and slash fight.

The last person who did that was Aizen with Wonderweiss. Yoruichi is Urahara best friend since childhood and he had no problems drugging her against her free will, despite knowing how much Yoruichi hated it, and he did enjoy a mindless Yoruichi very much. I think that's closer to what Kubo intended. Yoruichi being a cat is meant to reflect her personality. Like Urahra said, she's fickle and only shows her affections on her terms.

Giselle's interactions with Bambietta were also shown in a humorous scene. Doesn't mean it wasn't horrible. I think you're trying to hard to defend Urahara. He did alot of questionable or outright evil things in the past to achieve his goals and this is just one of them.

The only reason why Yhwach hasn't been attacking Orihime is in respect of her resolve to come with Ichigo despite being so vastly outclassed. He even asked Ichigo why he brought her along, knowing that doing so would put her in great danger. Orihime avoids being a liability because Yhwach unexpectedly has the grace to not attack the healer.

Honestly the highlight Espada were some of the most bland and uninteresting arrancar overall. Their goons and even the low ranking Espada were infinitely more interesting as designs and in a few cases even as characters.

and generally Kubo just seemed to drop the more dramatic transformations. Initially the whole bone armor thing was really cool, but it gradually changed into just new clothes. Grimmjow's little vangaurd team had a perfect look about them.

If that was true, Kubo would've introduced them earlier to save this god-awful plot. Watching six characters job to one Quincy's bullshit is unbearable, especially when Kubo is purposefully blueballing us by making all the fights contrived as fuck.

It's clear by the ridiculous/visually unimpressive Quincy powers that Kubo has run out of ideas for new abilities. At least when he was using Arrancar he just had to give the majority animal transformations and power boosts instead of thinking up a special snowflake power. Kubo's battles/writing is always best when a physical battle and the Bankais/Resurrections are more like amplified sword fights. Way better than literally three Quincies in a row who can't fucking die

i liked his second release. i liked that it was basic, it was similar to ichigo in that he was mostly just raw power with basic abilities(his energy weapon lance, and hollow cero). i think his first release is fuckin ugly though

I think everything 4 and lower was implied to be a Vasto Lorde. The problem is, as you said, Kubo totally dropped it. It was introduced as such a giant plot device, and then he didn't even take the courtesy to have someone observe, "Oh we're fighting Vasto Lordes."
Of course, at the beginning of the arc, I think he wrote the Arrancars out to be stronger than they were. The original Arrancars who invaded Karakuri the first time and fought Hitsugaya's squad were introduced as being only Menos, which was scary because those were the weakest Hollows out there yet their Arrancar forms were so strong. Later though we find out that they're the level above Menos. Essentially Kubo backpedaled on making the Arrancars strong and nerfed them so the captains could have their field day. Which resulted in fifty chapters of Aizen murdering everybody, which is a far weaker plot device, in my opinion, than him having a carefully instrumented army take out SS.

The first Arrancar invasion definitely over hyped them. Not to mention like>>142596037 they had some cool designs compared to some of the later releases. The volcano one that fought Ikkaku might've been my favorite one of those guys.

We know Arroniero was very explicitly not a vastolorde and the only gillian of the espada
that also strongly implied the espada were made up of a mix of types and not just 9 vastolorde and a gillian.
There was also a whole big hook about the Espada being incomplete, the arrancar all being failed experiments with the hogyoku and there being a hunt for the ellusive vastolordes so they could be recruited and turned into arrancar. All of that got dropped midway into the arc.

I fully agree. When that happened, I wondered what was even the point of him creating the Arrancar. With that kind of bullshit strength combined with hypnosis, he could've killed everyone in Soul Society immediately after Ichigo and Byakuya fought.
The only thing he needed was Wonderweiss to take out Yamamoto. That was literally it.

You forgot that he was powered by the Hogyoku though and only facing four captains. If Aizen had killed everyone in Soul Society, Squad Zero would have descended and without Orihime completing the Hogyoku, Aizen would have been bitchslapped by them. the initial implication was that he had no idea what he was doing, that Urahara's hogyoku was the only one ever made, and that he basically made the arrancar as a series of trial and error experiments to figure out what the hogyoku could actually do before intending to use it on himself. Aizen didn't expect the Espada to fail though. He probably did intend to use them for Squad Zero, but then realized that they aren't even able to defeat normal captains. So Aizen was basically like the readers. He thought the Espada were much stronger.

I think the only thing Kubo didn't plan was what the sword could exactly do. I think that was only decided once Kubo knew he wanted to make the missing body parts of the Soul King a plot point. So I would say it was decided during the five week hiatsu, what the mirror sword could actually do.

Nanao could have still been wielder of the sacred sword, while not being related to Kyoraku by blood. Heck, people didn't even speculate about it until Kubo gave us the story of Kyoraku's brother.
