I guess that modern cartoons tend to have simpler styles as opposed to the super elaborate designs most anime have, as well as an absurdly large budget by comparison. The animation is fine, and there's less QUALITY but it's also less interesting to watch at times.

education of women: for most of human history women would bleed then they'd be married off to some guy to make babies. This held true up through the middle of last century; when women started to be added to the workforce and get higher education degrees. This pushed back the age women got married AND had their first children. In reality it shove those averages right out of the most fertile periods in their lives.
