Ninja Scroll is good but not as good as you remember. It has a great plot and atmosphere but the fight scenes are kind of a mixed bag. There are a lot of scenes that rely on still frame shots and it can get kinda jarring after a while.

I cannot enjoy anime again (I read a lot of manga though). when I see the lazy, simplistic animation (even in movies) from most modern anime, I just stop watching
