Before thinking if I will die here and preparing something. I assume he will shield this explosion and take advantage of the smoke and debris to feign his death with texture or shield it and go for the kill or in risky careless way.
So far he is playing into Chrollo hand thinking and re-thinking every step to avoid getting mortally wounded. He might be able to land a counter breaking that pattern and going wild.

An opportunity appears if Hisoka survives the explosion; we see that Chrollo has lost many of his puppets in that explosion and that the crowd has thinned out from the start of the fight, so his ability to easily mix with the crowd and create puppets has weaken; although, Hisoka is not in a good condition to take advantage of this weakness.
Hisoka could also use his Texture ability to make one of the exploded puppet remains look like himself, even if Chrollo doesn't get close to confirm this (why would he when he can remotely have it bombed) it could catch his attention long enough for Hisoka to pull something.
Though, I'm okay if Hisoka dies since he got outplayed on so many fronts, but I would have liked to see Chrollo's Sun and Moon ability used against him, since it's a bit of a weakness that (I think) Chrollo can't remove his seals.

Chrollo has two sets of puppets out by this point. The 100-200 that he ordered to "Break Hisoka" using the announcer's headset, and new puppets that he was creating to find Hisoka and explode.
So the following could happen:
the first puppets to reach Hisoka on the ground are the normal puppets because they were already on the ground.
Then the puppets on the 2nd floor jump down to get close to Hisoka and explode.
Perhaps the normal puppets (combined with an ability of Hisoka?) could act as a meat wall for him.

Emitters are close to enhancers, so enhancers are decent at emitter abilities, but emitters are generally better at them. Just like emitters are decent enhancers but enhancers are better at it.
Emitters tend to have more and stronger long range abilities compared to enhancers using emission. Netero never went too far away from the Buddha but something like Knuckles ability could be miles away from him and still working fine.

It would be a huge fuck up from Kuroro if his orders made the non-explosive puppet's protect Hisoka from the explosion. Hisoka seems to acknowledge that either he falls down and the puppets outnumber and kill him or he stays up and the expoding ones kill him. He chooses to go down and the puppet's there don't look like using sun and moon, so I'm still guessing the explosion is Hisoka's doing.
I was never a clownfag but I did like his nen. Only flaw I found with it was that they for some reason had the need to stress how "adaptable" his nen was despite it being extremely simple and to be honest fairly weak. Its one of the reasons why Hisoka lost this fight with Chrollo (just guessing) since the edgelord had an arguably strong power compared to Hisoka.

That's where you don't get it, just because it's manipulation doesn't mean it's impossible to do for an Enhancer. The manipulation has to be quite simple, and it is in Netero's case. He only has 100 predetermined moves/hands that he can use. It's has to be way less dificult nen wise than manipulate it with complete freedom.

So now that Naruto is over, I tried this new fad and I can say, the next arcs will be pretty predictable. Togashi clearly takes ideas from Kishi. Nen is basically chakra and the Phantom Troupe is just a less intresting Akatsuki. Only diference is that Kishi planned out the world before starting and thus left no plothole, unlike Togashi. His tendency to rush even gets to his degrading artstyle. This battle will mark the start of the manga's next part, probably we even get a 2 year timeskip too. Just like how in Naruto's part 2 the Akatsuki went from background villains to the main focus, the spiders will be the main antagonists now. You can fully expect someone else pulling the strings from behind Chrollo.
Sorry for spoiling the coming arcs. Oh, and the Kilula vs Gon clash at the very end will be sweet.

With such a thin layer you wouldnt be able to manifest Kurapikas chain for example, it would be very unstable and break immediately if it forms at all and obviously you cant really use a stable bungee gum with it.
In the end it depends on how far you send out En and stuff but its normally not really useful in combat. Meruem of course considering how much aura he has even that thin layer could be used for some techniques even if those are weaker than normal but that is course his base aura was so friggin big

He activates Bungee Gum while at the same time contracting his aura
All of the aura in empty spaces (that is not touching anything but air) form a thin thread
Hisoka has now successfully attached Bungee Gum to every single individual touched by his En
This is obviously incredibly tiring so it's only used as a last resort, hence Hisoka's lines at the end of the chapter.I still think Hisoka will die though.
Hisoka will survive this fight and kill Chrollo when they next meet.

Knowing Chrollo's autism he'd train to keep his breath in for +10 minutes, more than enough time to deal fatal damage. And you could think up abilities like that until infinity. I'm not even talking about combining said abilities to make them more effective. He can use Lovely Ghost Writer to adjust his battle plan until it's optimal.
