Well, apparently, it's not a harem and the writers are decent, Date a Live's author is the one handling the plot as a whole. We also got LiSA and ClariS for the theme tracks, and Taku for the OST and A-1 the studio. It's almost top-notch. Besides, next season is knda weak, this may be one of the outstanding animes we will see.

The story starts around 20 years ago. This novel was written by Wtari Wataru (Oregairu) and it was about the lifes of two students. After a chain of events they fall in love. In the ending, they see something huge in the sky and that' where it cuts off. Moreover, throughout the entire novel, something is seen to be going on around the world, it has to do with the military fighting agaisnt something unknown. Then the next novels shifts the to actual time. Apparently, children were put to sleep and when they woke up, everything was destroyed. The translations stopped there, but it's kinda interesting.

Well if anything, the Tachibana pair is from a harem, where the silver haired one is surrounded by Origamis who fight and foil each other. The Yahari pair seem to be offsprings from the first book, a crazy narcissist sociopath and a loner. They are siblings and all that. Probably not a harem situation. A-1 and there tendency to just not give a shit and suck out loud with any anime original that isnt some form of weepy teen melodrama which even then they only display base level competency at. They're prettt damn awful at these action sort of thints especially safe LN harem elements or no. Also those writers frankly really aren't that great and way out of their element trying to write an actually exciting and interesting sci-fi action show. Likely they're just there for brand value and so their fans bother tuning in instead of just immediately rejecting what looks like bland generic shit at any glance. By all means build up expectations for what looks like another A-1 clusterfuck original that'll probably go nowhere but I feel like I'm going to be telling people I told them so as they prepare to do this dance again and hype one of their shows to the high fucking heavens only for it to turn out to be well below average in the aspects that matter for action/sci-fi. That was an adaptation of a tabletop campaign where Orubutcher was allowed to be his edgy self.

Still, adapted roleplay sessions should be OVAs or shorts and not full shows, as it would fit it best to just highlight the noteworthy stuff, the ridiculous stuff like succeeding in roleplaying a bear rogue disguised as a human and bluffing about knowing human speech, or just do small comedy sketches brought on by a fumble at the most hilarious of times.
