She was the first one who recognized and liked Naruto for what he was. She had courage even if she had no power, and she tried to grow stronger throughout the story rather than just wallowing in her weakness, she tried to follow her heroes. There were several times in the story where she proved her mettle, like when she fought Pain or when she slapped Naruto out of losing hope during the war.
Although a lot of Hinata fans have liked her since part one; cutest design, had a lot of courage, some funny moments, she seemed right away moe. Then she grew up and she was hot as well, while her character arc was also interesting in the background. That "Timid but courageous, as they keep going" archetype is pretty good.
Of course the people that hate deny all of this, say its all stupid and doesn't count usually. Usual responses are "NO, she has absolutely no character, absoutely no story, and you only like tits".

I kind of like the ending matching; you can't always get what you want. Naruto ended up with Hinata, probably likes her and grew to respect and appreciate her at first. Maybe even forgot about Sakura a bit.
As years went on, resentment for what could of been occurred. He spends no time with the kids, or with her. They are a constant reminder of what could have been.

It's not denial.
Either you admit the story is fucking garbage for going the cliche route of love wins in the end, or you admit Kishimoto was actually SOMEWHAT competent and made a complex ending where things aren't always the best outcome.
I never said he hated Hinata. I said resentment.
In real life people find people they are attracted to but might not love. Things grow and get comfortable, maybe even for a time you can say you love that person. Resentment grows over time.
That's realistic. It's not realistic for the hero to always get the girl.
So I like that Naruto didn't get the girl.
Moreover it's doubly perfect, because the girl is normally who decides. Normally who breaks down a guy until they settle.
That is real life. It's sad, it's not ideal, but it's real.
I like that Naruto had that ending, it's one redeeming factor. To say it was an ideal ending, to say Sasuke and Naruto got the girl they WANTED in the end is just a cop out and horrible fucking story righting.
Moreover Sakura broke down Sasuke till he gave up and went with her. Even better he had a kid with another girl who was also obsessed with him.
In the end things are good, not ideal, Sakura raises another girls kid, Sasuke avoids her and probably gives her a dicking every so often, and Naruto settled and is in resentment so works all the time.

The obviously canon ending is that Naruto and Hinata love each other and married each other. The Last is canon and Naruto only ever liked Sakura because of his rivalry with Sasuke. That's canon whether you like it or not.

A lot but that wasn't the canon ending. Naruto finds his ideal job and sidelines any girl or kids he has for but still makes some time for them, but they'll always be #2 at best in his heart next to his big hat. If your going to try and be analytical you can at least take the time to get it right. Sakura or Hinata would still rank below the silly hat with fire written on it.

I think Hima only really looked good in the Boruto movie (and that one shot I guess). Her two panels in the manga were wonky, and she looked like an alien just like her brother in her profile picture for the Last.
