Sup /a/, I'm staying in Tokyo right now, and leave for the US in 2 days.
I picked up a few doujins yesterday in Akihabara and plan on taking them back home with me.
My question is - are they going to get through customs, or am I going to be treated like a sex offender because of some drawings?
What have you guys experienced with bringing doujins back to the US? Any tips? Should it be on my carry-on or luggage? Do they only care if it's loli? If I'm going to get fucked over, how would I go about shipping it to myself instead of taking it with me?

who cares, first amendment

>who cares
People at the TSA who think that fictional drawings are something to arrest someone over.

You might wanna try jp or the buyfag thread.

Given that lolicon doujins and the like are literally classified as actual child porn in other countries, its a legitimate fear. You should do due diligence and look into this yourself anon.
>>
>>142317629
But what are the US's laws on it? I'm pretty sure it's legal as long as it's not actual kiddie pr0nz, but I've never really gotten a clear answer, and I don't know if what I've heard is outdated or still in effect.

depends on the state, and the whims of the local judicial system.

Well I live in Georgia so it'll be a direct flight there from Tokyo. Is it legal there? Can someone post that color-coded map of the US's laws on loli? Any other info would be useful too.

Just scan and upload or mail them home. Really its not hard

This is from 2013, I don't know if there's been any change since.

I've brought back loads of doujin from Japan a couple of times. Customs is just them asking if you have agricultural products could be invasive (plants\animals), and in the US, TSA has better things to do like making you dump out your soda. Nobody gives a shit. If you're worried just check the bag.

Fuck, should I get rid of my massive folders of such images, then? Hadn't even realized what I was doing.

Just blame nsa for the collection.

Don't you have to declare anything you've purchased? This is my first time overseas so I have no idea what customs is really like.
>>
>>142318650
you only have to declare things that you are required to declare

generally this is plantmatter/food/drink/biological stuff due to contaimination risks or chemicals.

chances are your jurisdiction will have a website set up that will easily explain what kind of things you need to declare.
>>
>>142317168
I brought like 20+ doujins on my carry-on. I was sweating bullets at immigration, but nothing happened at all. You'll be fine.
>>
>>142317168
I've been to Japan for three Comikets and brought back loads of loli porn each time. Nobody cares. Especially if you're coming in through LAX which most Japan flights do.

>>142318650
I just wrote "Comic books - $100" on my slip. (Of course I spent way more than that, but again, nobody cares). You will not get bag-checked unless you've got something biological in your bag. Just don't do that and you're fine.
>>
>>142317168
if it's loli you have to arrive in the US in certain states like california
>>
>>142317168
Nobody's going to care. They're only gonna get suspicious if you act suspicious, in which case they'd probably check you for drugs for something. Both times, at Japanese and US customs, they didn't even so much as touch my bags, just glanced at me holding them and waved me on. Heck, the only country I've been to that actually took customs seriously was Russia, and even then that was just a cursory few-second check. Most countries just waved me on without even looking.
No need to declare anything unless it's biological or worth thousands of dollars. Loli is completely legal in the US, at least for personal ownership, I don't know where silly 'guides' like >>142317924 come from. There has never been a case in the US where someone was arrested, let alone prosecuted, solely for having loli porn. (There have been situations involving things like selling it, public display, improper transport through the us postal service, etc. But never simply owning or viewing it.)
>>
>>142317924
I can't even find a source for this, nor any state statute in Florida at least explicitly stating anything on the legality of drawings. This image is misleading and likely bogus.
>>
>>142320038
Oh, and actual child porn. There have been several cases where authorities drug out random laws to use loli porn as a means of inflating charges against people caught with actual CP. But never for loli itself.
>>
I reckon you'll get held up regardless, even if you aren't charged with anything I hop you enjoy your overnight stay.
>>
>>142320811
You really think so anon? From what I've been hearing ITT I should be fine.
>>
>>142318650
You can be pretty vague. I just wrote books and souvenirs. They're only looking for super expensive gifts like alcohol or potentially invasive products like seeds, flowers, animals, etc.
>>
Nice thread, burgerland.

Nice post, burger.

Just put them in your checked baggage. Xray machine isn't going to show them drawings of prepubescent looking girls. So they will have no reason to look in your bags.

I was stationed in Japan and flew back to the states a few times. I always had something in my luggage I shouldn't have, or was supposed to have declared and paid taxes on.

I always wonder if drawings have rights, do parallel universe versions of people have rights too? I mean there's an infinite amount of alternate universes. If we think about drawings, what about all those girls in the alternate universes?

>I always wonder if drawings have rights, do parallel universe versions of people have rights too?
Perhaps, but drawings don't have rights, so it doesn't matter.
>>
Do thoughts have rights?
I just thought this thought and am worried I might have offended the poor thing. Maybe I just did by calling it poor just now.
