I've seen plenty of pictures of smashed SAL boxes and even broken figs to make me reconsider. But EMS usually isn't worth it to me. I typically use it only if it was a more expensive fig to begin with or I must use due to box size.

To America SAL "PARCEL" has always been more expensive than EMS in like 99% of cases. And it's like that for most of the world. SAL airmail or SAL small packet is usually cheaper than EMS. Parcel is for oversized or awkwardly shaped packages that don't work with EMS. But not anymore apparently.
