No, they have good taste. Younger women are more likely to have no issue with pregnancy and successfully pass genes on.
Christmas cakes in anime are also generally extremely attractive or having something or another that makes them endearing, so the mere fact that they're, well, cakes despite such advantages implies there's something wrong with them that scares potentials away. Mental issues and their general desperation/envy towards young women who tend to be in the middle of experiencing first love are a big red flag.
