Just enough for airing seasonal shit, backlog, and stuff that has rewatch value for me. It just think it's a waste to archive shitty anime you've already watch. I mean what kind of situation would you need to keep the usual harem trash. You probably watched it with a shit eating grin like I did but you wouldn't rewatch it.

Just deleted my archive and redownloading all of it in hi10p encode. Saves space.
>>
Most of the space I need is for DVD/BD rips. I buy a lot of stuff myself too and most of it I haven't even yet ripped. Comes up to 2.5+ TB (2.88TB for my "rips" folder but it's not all anime). I still have a bunch of partly downloaded series in qbittorrent too, can't afford to download it all at once because of download cap. After ripping all my stuff and downloading what's in my client I think it will exceed 3.5TB easily.

I keep good encodes of good movies too, especially BD encodes of grainy old movies can be 10+GB and it would be a pain to redownload. I delete most stuff I wouldn't rewatch though. Same with TV series. I also keep stuff that I remux (usually to fix subs or add subs to raws) or encode myself, and rare VHS rips even if it's shitty YouTube rips. I've already seen a few deleted from YT and not available anywhere else, and shit rips usually don't take much space anyway so it's worth it.

Then I keep some stuff on backlog, but most of it is just paused at 0% in qbittorrent if it's on BBT or not likely to be deleted or unseeded any time soon.

What's the best hard drive I can buy under $100?
>>
After I quit watching airing shows, I kept downloading for a while but it got harder and harder. It's a long and difficult process.
Step 1: find the best release (quality, subtitles)
Step 2: download it (coalgirls: 40gb for 20 episodes)
Step 3: reencode it to 8 bit so I can watch on my other devices
Step 4: copy it to my other devices (a problem because a 40gb show doesn't fit on everything)
Etc.
After a few repetitions of this I just quit, I'm full kissanime now. I have to admit, they have an amazing site. They have every anime, even the most obscure ones, with all ovas and specials too. Just click and stream. Sure, the quality isn't perfect, and with grainy shows it can get pretty bad, but I have bad eyesight anyway so it's okay.
When I was neet I had no problem with the downloading routine, but now I'm a functioning person, I don't have time to waste. Click and stream, if I don't like the show I didn't waste 40gb of bandwidth and time.
>>
>>142113536

Nope, just nyaa.

>>142112038
Because there have been too many times where I've missed something seasons ago and there have been no seeds for it. I now routinely download every show per season.

All I have to do is setup an RSS feed, and then download stuff automatically to a phone in my pocket at work on their public wifi. Storage is cheap and I have a freeNAS box at home, the only downside is having to buy a new extra disk every few years.
>>
I just ate on a shoestring budget for a few months and saved up in a few months to buy a 4TB, I have no income I managed this just off the money my dad sends me to eat and pay rent with while I'm in uni. It's not that hard, I'm so going full NAS once I have a place of my own.

Quality is blurry and hard to seek depending on the steam player. Also quality is too poor for screenshots and making webms. After season is over it can be deleted.

I'd be willing to bet a ton of these people posting huge file sizes are just renaming their drive to take a screencap.

If you actually have 5tb of anime take a picture of the folder contents and prove it.

Even if mp4 reencodes had seeders, they're still files and have some size, I would still have to download and copy them. There's nothing easier than click and play without downloading. I'm not trying to advertise, I just got tired of delays when I want to watch something. Anime is just a side hobby, it's no longer a super prominent part of my life. I still can watch 5 or 6 episodes a day, but the amount of time I save by not downloading is huge, and I can spend that time doing other things.

AMD CPUs aren't great. They're okay for mid-range GPUs though.

16 GB RAM is kinda unnecessary unless you're doing stuff that specifically requires a fuckton of RAM like video editing or whatever.

So it's not the browser, but the web pages loaded into memory. That's like running hundreds of notepad.exe processes and complaining the program is bloated. And I can't fathom why anyone would need that much tabs open; it's utterly inefficient and poor management on your part.
