I was always confused about how Echoes was able to move words around as if they were constructs.
I thought he could just place them like act 1. I always thought the little word blobs were just weird, or they were like a stylistic choice.

Epitaph, the face on his forehead, predicts 10 seconds into the future. This fate cannot be avoided except by activating time erase. When he erases time, he moves into his own little world outside space and time where the things Epitaph predicted will move about like projections. Diavolo can move however he wants in this time and ignore what Epitaph predicted to happen to him. After 10 seconds or when he's decided he's ready, time will continue. He will reappear in the physical world exactly where he was in the erased time world and everyone and everything else will reappear exactly where their projections were at the end of erased time. Because the time was erased and took place in another world, no time passes between Diavolo activating KC and time resuming, so to everyone BUT Diavolo they just seemingly teleported. Things that happened during erased time still happen to them, like if Epitaph predicted them being stabbed they'd still be stabbed they'd just seemingly teleport to lying on the ground with a stab wound and no memory of how it happened. Diavolo gets behind the projections in erased time and then resumes it so that he can attack from behind while his targets are confused about the whole teleporting thing.
So basically he can see any attack coming 10 seconds before it does and he can set up perfect attacks with ease.

Speaking of Gyro's lessons, his first lesson isn't what most people think it is. It's something entirely differen't.
Lesson 1 isn't "If you have got the will to get on the horse, why don't you?", that's the hint. The first lesson is "Don't get any weird hopes in me." The first lesson is learning that you have to do the work yourself, and it's one of the harder lessons for Johnny to learn.

Part 5's main theme is 'resolve' in that the characters have to resolve to do absolutely insane shit to survive like splitting their own heart in half to hide their heartbeat. The second half still has shit translations but you should love it regardless. The entire series is like this. Araki is still going strong, the last few chapters of Part 8 which is still running have been some of the best we've ever gotten.

You know how colours are always changing in the anime as a reference to the different colours that are a staple on all the different manga covers and whatnot? It's just that the yellow can look really frustrating when it's practically like that 80% of time in the anime while SC was moderate about it. Just look how pleasant the blue sky looks in that webm compared to most other scenes in DiU with that yellow sky. It's being overused.
My hope is that David's reason for the constant yellow sky is that it delivers a sense of insecurity and unfamiliarity with the mysteries of stand users surrounding Morioh and now that Josuke and Okuyasu are starting to get used to seeing them around alongside the plot of the arrow finally settling in, the environment's colouring can look more "normal" to give off this familiar and regular vibe that's starting to become set in stone in the anime. As long as we see more blue sky, I'll be fine. Though the one fight I don't want to see with a yellow sky is the Akira one since I just think blue would make it look much nicer considering it takes place near the ocean.

As far as shonen goes Araki wrote some of the slowest paced but not drawn out stuff there is. A lot of fights in other shonen series unless it's the final battle of an arc or something don't tend to be any longer than maybe 4 chapters, where as from part way through SC the average fight in JJBA is something like 7 or maybe 8 chapters long. Part of what makes it so good is the pacing and how Araki takes his time but very rarely lets things reach a point where nothing happens. Also he's very creative and still is even 12 years after switching to seinen.

Pretty much. If he was going to do it then it'll still happen. There's no guarantee that he'll succeed in the prediction but if he does he becomes unstoppable. It's a cool Stand because it fits his character so perfectly. He still needs to be good enough to pull the action off without the delete but the limits and strengths are actually fairly balanced.

And as for if Diavolo were to have intention to pick up a book, and then skip time, it would not end up not in his hand, but it would be where his hand would have been if he hadn't skipped time. Basically: during Diavolo's time skips, the world still behaves as if Diavolo had followed his fate. As I said, Diavolo cannot predict his own actions, but is not himself exempt from fate, except during his time skips. That's why people in his predictions can still react to him. If, say, Diavolo were to punch Girono two seconds from now, he wouldn't be able to see himself in his prediction, but he'd still see Girono reacting to the punch. For illustration, let's say that Diavolo's "fate" was to jump in a pool. If Diavolo activates his time skip, he doesn't have to follow his own "fate", and can go hang out at the bar, check out a movie, whatever he wants. But, as long as the time skip is in effect, the world will behave as if Diavolo had followed his fate, and the pool will still have a splash as if Diavolo had jumped into it. But if Diavolo were to resume time before the splash, it wouldn't happen, because as soon as time resumes, fate has to adjust to Diavolo's new location. Diavolo was able to kill Narancia because his "fate" was to impale the young man on a fence. As long as Diavolo was careful to end the time skip after Narancia was already impaled, he didn't actually have to lift Narancia up and impale him, but rather, could use those precious ten seconds to get somewhere safe.

So essentially, Epitaph gives Diavolo superior reaction times since he sees what happens in the next 10 seconds. However, it also predicts HIS actions and sets that in stone. King Crimson can only change his location after those actions, but his and his opponents actions still happen.
King Crimson allows him to teleport out of danger and confuse the fuck out of his opponents with skipped time. For him to kill someone, he has to get into the position to do so, then skip time to set that in stone.
I think I finally get this goddamn Stand. To use it properly one needs to think several steps ahead of the opponent and surprise them while confused. Otherwise it just lets you avoid danger.
It really isn't THAT overpowered. The World is more flexible and useful.

My interpretation is that something "inevitable" will still happen in the timeskip. Diavolo is a grown ass muscleman. Narancia (well Giorno) isn't particularly well-built, no slouch but he's not a big bara. Diavolo being able to overpower him and throw him to the fence was just something that would've happened naturally, so over the course of the timeskip it just happened. At least that's how I see it.

Think of time skip like ripping a single page out of a book. Everything that happened in that page is gone, but the rest of the pages are still there and the events inside them are still affected by what happened in the missing page.
Diavolo's ability is like removing that single page, with everyone in the next pages reacting the same way they should have even when the events didn't happen anymore, which now changes the rest of the book. The entire theme of King Crimson is defying fate.

I think that Diavolo's predictions come true whether or not he's there to do it because otherwise it doesn't make sense. He's included in his own prediction, and everyone during time skip behaves as of he were still there. Simply, if everything besides him had to follow his predictions, why would whether or not he was there to interact with them make a difference? He exists apart from the world while it still carries on as if he were there. Say Diavolo was going to throw a rock in his prediction, but time skipped, and during his time skip didn't. You can say well, Diavolo wasn't there to throw that rock, therefore it didn't get thrown. But no one was there to do anything during time skip. Those seconds ceased to exist. He only retains the "effects" included in his predictions, and since his own actions are included in his predictions, his predicted "effects" must happen as well.

To make my final point, Diavolo can't accept that ANYTHING is outside his control, and desperately tries to shatter his past for that exact reason. In fact, he can't accept unpredictability in general, so he obsesses over fate, tries to remove his past, claims fate is sending him a test when he screws up by leaving Polnareff alive, and loses his shit if anyone betrays him. While this could be stated to be due to his pride, and it partially is, it mostly comes from fear. He's someone who's so scared of losing his power (far and away the most common phobia of those with power) that he's become a paranoid wreck. It's why he always shouts about "remaining on top." Why his first appearance is him naked, curled into a fetal position, under a blanket in a dark room somewhere. And also why he talks about how great he is way more than the other villains. He's a smooth talker who tries to remain cool, but when things go very, very wrong, he turns into a sputtering mess who mutters to himself about his own superiority.
