Kageura uses it. The thin the scorpion as much as possible to allow close-mid range attacks that are hard to see but in return they are easily breakable so any form of a counterattack would stop it.

Actually, you can sort of adjust Kogetsu's settings. While it's always going to be heavier than Scorpion it's implied that you can choose between being a one-handed Kogetsu user or a two-handed.

It's not the first time. Exciting Animal Bastard figured it out too after the large invasion ended. More so than GalaGaloo did - Hairein actually realized somebody was manipulating the course of events, not just seeing through their plans.
Something will certainly happen to Jin eventually, but even more than his being an asset, Jin's been built up to be doing his best watching out for/training up his juniors.
Tama-2 already has plenty of motivation for away team. Jin losing his plot armor at this point would have to really, really reach to make sense from a storytelling perspective.

Thinking about it, there is some serious writing behind Katori defeat and the way it's showed. There is the wires she always hang around herself, that wakamura talked about at the beginning (the wall) and that Osamu materialised, and at the end yuma cut those wires for good.
At least she's free to change, because the delusion she lived in, to be the sole hero of this game, has ended.
If anything is to be learned from this match, it's that Kakizaki needs to let Teruya shine more often as a stand alone fighter.

Technically they don't need to accomplish anything. Their orders are simply to attack Meeden, and they aren't particularly happy about it. All they need to do is make good faith efforts to fuck with Meeden until the world move apart and they can return home.
Ultimately I doubt they'll do more than interrupt a round or two of the rank wars, and carry back work that Hyuse is now working with Meeden - omitting the part where he'd escaped and had been attempting to return until Galopoula's lowest ranking guy refused Hyuse passage and told him Aftokrator was throwing him under the bus, giving Hyuse a really good reason to throw his lot in with Meeden.

What I really like about this chapter is that everyone got their chance to look cool. Ashihara didn't make Tamakoma-2 look cool by making Katori and Teruya look like chumps, he made them look resourceful and talented even as they went down. The rising tide lifts all boats here.

I think that anon meant that extended scorpions have no strength to them. They're super brittle and a shield or a simple deflection are all it take to stop them from reaching their mark. Kageura is just so good with them that their weaknesses don't come up as often.
It's reflected in his Range 2 stat where most Scorpion Attackers are stuck at Range 1. In terms of an SRPG he'd be like a damage dealer who has all the offensive power and mobility typical to his class but the ability to also hit 2 tiles away.

There are some paneled time delays to show her reactions to the wires but I'm pretty sure what really happened was that Kuga was already prepping his Scorpion whip and she just couldn't react in time. You just gotta take some liberties with these panels sometimes and assume she wasn't fast enough. I don't think shielding isn't as easy as people assume. You either have to anticipate it (like how Suwa blocked a headshot but lost his leg) or have one up constantly and shift it to where you need it most.
Besides, with how low her Trion was at that point it could be possible that she wasn't able to get a Shield up, period. This is all speculation though.

Priority number one would be taking out Zoe and Ninomiya because of their ability to cause huge AoE damage. Kageura is also a threat to wire zones but he's a much more local/immediate counter and I expect T-2 to back off a bit from their extensive spider web strategy in the next match, at least until the big AoE players are off the field.
I feel like Osamu is going to be much more active with his Spidering in the match, in the same way that he was active towards the end of this match. He'll be binding people sneakily with Bagworm (Chameleon seems like it'd cost too much Trion for him to maintain) and do on the spot tripping as opposed to setting up wire zones. If left to his own devices I think he's best off skulking around and firing cheap Asteroid shots and Spiders at unsuspecting targets to killsteal points.
Yuzuru and Chika are probably going to have their hands full trying to counter-snipe Godzuma and pushing back his long-range support. There might even be a teamup for as long as it takes. I wouldn't put it past them to work together against top level threats like Ninomiya and Azuma.
Hard to say what Yuuma is going to do. I expect he'll either be following Osamu around to pick off kills or playing a more active role as a map roaming Assassin since Osamu can sort of hold his own now.

To do that he would need to have been inside the building beforehand to set up the Spiders, or he could try to set the Spiders during the fight but that means splitting his concentration. Also, Osamu was trying to stay close to Inukai. Gunners (and people with higher trion) have an advantage at range. Oh, they've got loads of potential for the future, but the current strategy won't work. The match that just ended was absolute perfect situation to use Spider. If any of their enemies had a Sniper, a powerful Shooter, a highly mobile Attacker, or just someone with a good understanding of tactics, the Spider-web strategy would have been stopped before it began.
Hyuse could change everything. He's got more trion than anyone but Chika, hax Trion horns and more combat experience than anyone but Yuma.

I'm not proposing he run right at people and shoot Spiders at them. That's fucking stupid and if Osamu has learned anything from these fights it's that he cannot engage 1v1 unless the circumstances favor him. But the thing is, Osamu doesn't have to put himself situations like that. If he Bagworms and chooses a map with lots of natural cover he can hide out and only play his hand when he needs to.
For example: Yuuma gets drawn into a melee with Tsuji and Azuma's two newbies and can't quite gain an upper hand so he slowly draws the fight towards where he knows Osamu is hiding. Osamu chooses not to make any overt plays and pointedly doesn't lay any webs that would reveal his presence. Instead, he remains hiding until a point comes where he snags one of the Attackers the way he handled Katori. Yuuma, who is prepared for this, cleans up the kill.
It's just a hypothetical situation but here Yuuma swings a deadlock into Tamakoma-2's favor. Once Osamu's made his move he can either bunker down with Raygust and help support Yuuma pick up kills or slip away in the chaos Yuuma creates to help set-up the next avenue of attack.

That's the problem I have with the way they've set up Osamu so far. He seems to be following the ghetto batman route, where he needs a week's worth of prep time and foreknowledge of what opponents he'll be facing. That's ok in the rank wars, but for something like an away mission that needs fluid, on-the-spot ability, he seems in a really bad place.
His only "advantage" is he's training against people well above his fucking level, and isn't getting discouraged by it, so people lower than that aren't as intimidating. But if the commanders held Hatohara back solely because she wouldn't shoot people, I seriously can't imagine them allowing Osamu the way he's going, even if they somehow hit A-rank.
I don't want him to become a trapper, but I can't imagine how else he's going to manifest that level of usefulness in time.

Blowing up the bridge was a last minute fix to a worst-case scenario, to which even Osamu admitted he fucked up by forgetting weather was even a thing the entire week. Come to think of it, has Tamakoma-2 really repeated their strategies between matches beyond the basics of Yuma taking point, Chika providing support fire (mostly against structures), and Osamu doing whatever he can to be a pain in the ass for their opponents.
Match 1: Was a blow out, didn't bother meeting up as far as we know. Yuma causally soloed the first squad. The second squad tried to hide in a building, and Chika blew it up and Yuma cut them down before they hit the ground.
Match 2: Picked extreme terrain, met up and provided cover fire for Suwa unit to engage Arafune unit. Chika then found a place to snipe from, while Yuma engaged and Osamu floated around making people watch their back in case he did anything. Chika sniped and got sniped in return. Then at the end Yuma set Suwa up for Osamu to shoot.
Match 3: Didn't try to meet up after getting bad drop locations. Had Chika blow up the bridge to keep the other teams from meeting up. Left Yuma with Chika's support to deal with the one side of the river, while Osamu spent the match actively attacking Nasu, keeping her pincered between him and Kuruma's unit to keep her from doing too much. Yuma cleaned up the one side, and while Osamu's attempt at a killing blow failed and Nasu took out Kuruma's unit, Nasu was damaged to the point of bail out.
Match 4: Got their shit kicked in too quickly for us to really know what they'd had planned.
Match 5: Met up, set Chika up in a good sniping position, kept Katori and Kakizaki's squads from fighting each other, and forced them to focus on T-2. Chika provided support while Osamu squared off with Katori's side and Yuma dealt with Kakizaki's side.
So Tamakoma-2 has met up, or not met up, as the situation called for, and has worked with, or attacked other squads as the situation called for. They aren't blindly repeating strategies.

Chika is an asset because along with her trion she has two side effects, with one that can detect hostile neighbors. Being a sniper also means that she isn't on the front lines, and her second side effect hides her presence from trion soldiers.
