i'd argue those examples are quite different, nobody expected all the prison break team to get squished like that so i think that was more of a "oh shit how will they get out of this?" instead of a "oh shit they all dead"

personally i don't have strong feelings either way, if she did get violently killed by the guy who was keeping her as an armless, legless dick sleeve then tumblr will fucking explode, if she did survive then there's a chance for her to lose to the power of the dick, thus potentially turning off the tumblr readership that is convinced mutsuki is a trans and some sort of political message by Ishida

I think Mutuski's alive, but I have my doubts that's her in that panel. She has too much unexplained backstory for her to be dead yet.We still still haven't seen how her parents and brother died, and that's the most interesting part of her backstory. Torso knows she pretends to be a guy, so I think he beheaded a random guy and left the body covered by a sheet with Mutsuki's blood on it as a decoy for the CCG to find, so that they won't keep looking for "him". Torso doesn't know Urie knows that Mutsuki's a woman.

Because the possible Urie character development is far more interesting than anything Ishida could do with Mutsuki, and Mutsuki dying like this is satisfying because of how realistic it is unlike most of the deaths/near deaths in this series. Sometimes ghouls are depraved and sometimes they get away with it, not everyone should get a magical powerup after a few minutes of introsepction
