How do you deal with the depression once you've finished a great show?
>>
Jack off

You kill yourself.

How do you deal with the depression when you realize your thread is just a repost of a repost of a repost and there's nothing original about your choice of words or image whatsoever?
Your life as an individual entity ended the moment you hit submit.
>>
Find porn of it.
>>
Never watch the final episode.

I have 12 anime I purposely haven't finished because I didn't want them to end. Am I a bad person?
>>
It's been a while since that happened to me, I only get depressed now if I'm dissatisfied with some plot point. A recent example would be Utawarerumono, I mean why the fuck wouldn't he tell Kuon? Thanks for digging up those feeling asshole.

Nothing compared to the eternal hiatus depression, or worse, the dead author/discontinued depression.

you hang yourself so you can meet them in their world

This. The way I deal with all depression.
>>
>>141598925
I actually do this too.

On the other hand, the last episode is usually flawed anyway.

Find a new one. If you can't find one just as great, you're not looking hard enough.

Sometimes it is, sometimes not

Listen to the OP/ED on repeat

I don't really get depressed after finishing an anime. I get determined to find other things to do. Like study for classes, git gud at a game I've been playing, go outside and get fresh air, and other shit.
>>
I haven't had that feeling in a while and it's quite worrying.
>>
>>141599924
what if my OCD keeps me from dropping shows? If I start a show, no matter how bad it is, I have to finish it (unless it's a very long shows with 40+ episodes).
>>

top KUCK

You pick up another one. Also, you must be pretty new to actually feel like that. I haven't been attached to a series in years
>>
>>141601392
Fuck right off, /pol/
This is a losers board
>>

>I haven't been attached to a series in years
You've been watching shit series for years then.
>>
Go watch Toy Story with your mom
>>
>>141603619
Not really
You only get "depressed" because you're bored because there isnt any tension or interest anymore
If you watch anime regularly this doesnt happen because you are continuosly interested in something
>>
>>141606504
That's not true
After having spent time getting emotionally invested in the characters and the setting it's normal to feel downhearted when it's over
>>
I just realized that I've been watching a lot of shows every season and doing some backlog stuff but haven't felt this for years.
Maybe after like 500shows you realize deep inside that they are all the same but you just keep watching for no reason.
>>
>>141606722
Most anime are partial adaptations of ongoing works, you can't have that feeling of conclusiveness there.
The last I remember was Working's ending last year, that made me pretty sad.
>>
>>141606722
>>141607025
Once even anime can't fill the emptiness, what's left to do?
>>
>>141607076
I'm moving to literature and philosophy, also started playing the guitar, I just can't drop anime entirely (yet I guess).
I'll always be antisocial and I don't want to change that but there are always things you can fill your time with.
>>
>>141607166
>literature and philosophy
I guess, but anime is still the best form of escapism.
>>
Immediately consume more media.
>>
>>141607076
Just get some older finished series, you should find something worthwhile more often then watching seasonal anime.

I didnt have post anime for a long time.
Mostly because I only watch anime at night and immediately fall asleep after watching.
And I dont have time to think about in the morning.
Then I watch more anime and eventually forget about it
>>
>>141598764
I spend a couple days masturbating and shitposting on /a/.Then I find something new to watch.
>>
>tfw I haven't felt that way about a show in a long time
Kill me
Even though it's a sad feeling, I loved it. I wish I could get that feeling again.
>>
>>141611510
Perhaps you should rewatch the anime that made you feel that way.
>>
I still can't.
I'm becoming more bitter after every anime I watch.

How do you manage that? I always feel like I have to finish what I start.

The only show I haven't finished is Railgun's second season because fuck Nagai.

Move on to the next series, then the next series. Until 5-10 years later I think oh hey wasn't that show good? Then re-watch after forgetting most of it. I still haven't re-watched K-on for instance and when I do it will be the funnest. Unless my tastes have changed.

I think about how good it was and that I really enjoyed watching it. Even when it wasn't very good, it's rare that I hate something I watched. After the last episode (or chapter) sometimes I get mixed feelings. On one hand, I'm sad that something so good ended and on the other hand I'm happy that I found something so good. This mostly happens when reading long manga because they accompany me for a long time and thus stay longer in my mind. I partly watch anime because I don't want to think about the problems or worry about something, so beeing overly depressed after finishing one wouldn't be the right thing to do.
But honestly, feeling a little bit sad after finishing something good reminds me that I can still enjoy it.

Consume as much media from the show as you possibly can. Follow the seiyuu on twitter, talk with them, send the studio letters, etc

I'm about to have a mental breakdown because of majikoi

You mean the lolipop girl? Forced myself to watch that, you really didn't miss a damn thing.
>>
>>141612852
Jokes on you, I exclusively watch that kind of anime. The fact a show ends means no more of Love Live for example sunshine has different characters so IDC
