I'm fine with it. Clearly it grew physically and has fucked up internal structure. These aren't just zombies, they're freaky disease super zombies. Then the first thing that happened during its engagement with Kurusu is a very heavy parry/sword-locking that probably weakened Kurusu's blade.

So I haven't watched any of this, just read the wikipedia page and seen a few images, but from what I've seen the artwork is gorgeous, it looks like the old timey anime from the 70s and 80s that I watched on vhs as a child but with a budget and tools from this century. Like how both criticize humanity's defensive strategy and overall cowardice, it works in attack on titan because they're locking themselves up hoping nothing bad happens, it doesn't work in Kabaneri where they have means of transportation. If shit hits the fan you can evacuate a big part of the population and find somewhere else unless you're retarded.
Or how the titans were way more intimidating than some zombies. The authorities in SnK are hateable whereas they're not morally wrong in KnK and just on alert
