"Upbeat" is used to describe songs that are somewhat preppy in tempo or make you feel good and give you energy.

I watched Wind Rises the other day and there was a rather striking scene of a plane burning and crashing to the sound effects of a piano key and a tennis game.
Also in Hunter x Hunter there's the episode where Kurapika is auditioning for his bodyguard job. While they're being attacked by ninjas it's set to a man playing piano in another room.
I don't know if either are really "happy" but they're certainly offbeat music choices which draw more attention to the scene at hand.

My brother was watching akame ga kill the other day and I walked in on the scene where they are fighting the giant guy right after they were ambushed at the headquarters.

Japanese Dragonball/Z/GT BGM is ridiculous-sounding in general a lot of the time (lots of springy noises and high-pitched DU-DUUUNs), so there are probably lots of other examples. I remember a scene in GT where Pan was crying having some silly circus music, for example.
