It's nice, though I wasn't nearly as enamored by it as I was Yuasa's other shows. Looked really pretty but I thought it was mostly stupid after it ditched the episodic format.

I really liked how they made use of a goofy artstyle to hide its incredibly dark and disturbing themes. Couldn't watch more than an episode at a time because of how dark it was, but enjoyed it as a series nonetheless.

Up to episode 9 Kaiba was some of the best I've seen from anime, I loved each and every episode. Then it just became some convoluted, incoherent KOTH match where everyone becomes a blank slate at the end. Unbelieveable, Kaiba should have stuck to expounding on its universe and themes rather than advancing the otherwise terribly boring overaching plot with Warp and his shitty quasi-romance.

That is false. "anime" in Japan means "cartoon". They call "anime" any animation product, including Warner Bros shorts and Disney's movies.

Let's discuss how the ending could have been made less Eva-like. The beginning is pretty much set in stone by memory loss, but the whole story can be presented as something that just happens in some distant universe. The last episodes that share the plot kind of thin it out, they probably can be better if each of them, including the final, is remade to be as self-contained as first ones.
