S1 is pretty nice, I liked it when it aired but it doesn't hold up all that well on repeated viewings.
S2 is a literal masterpiece and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.

There was so much fourth wall and fantasy humor in this show but the way Kyoani executed it made it look like there was none at all.

The writing of K-On is also so very drab. The punchlines are more predicable than peanuts comics. Never has a manga adaptation improved the source as much as Kyoani did for K-on.
