Technically, its a book, not a light novel. It costs 1000 yen while normal LN are 600-700 yen. Most LN are also about 250-300 pages. Overlord is 400-450 pages.

1. In Maruyama's heart it is still winter, in his heart it is now 16th months of 2015 so he didn't lie about releasing volume ten in winter
2. He was originally planning to write the aftermath in 50 pages within the dwarf arc, the aftermath story now increased to over 500 pages alone. If he can't cut it down under 500 pages the book will get more expensive.
3. He has not given up on the web novel, he wants to at least finish the empire arc in the web novel.
4. He said if he didn't lay this much foundation to the story it's gonna be harder to write as the story progress as well as increase in plot holes.
5. The special edition of volume ten is gonna be sold on ebten.
6. There is an overlord alarm app on the phone as well as a mini game.

Vol 9 was very good. But the other volumes, vol 5 and 6 especially, feel really odd to me. Sometimes it seems they do a literal translation instead of taking the time and rewording it to something more natural in english. This is the last thing I remember from the BD6 that didn't make sense:

What does this mean exactly? Whats the aim of Ainz by doing this? I can read moon, does that count? But the first line I gave can be figured out by anyone and requires zero language skills, you just need reading comprehension and an understanding of MMO/DND/RPG jargon. 'Triggering/tripping a floor trap' for example is a common line.

That's because always doing localizing translations are shit and end up completely losing context. You should do it when possible but don't force it, that's the real benefit of fan translations unless you're so white washed you need the word ramen to be translated into Japanese noodle soup dish.
Even fucking companies like Viz aren't all that consistent about it either, they would remove honorifics like -chan -kun -sama but they would leave in -sensei at times. How do you explain that? And by the way, Viz is way better than Yen Press if we're looking at track records, Viz has never pumped out NGNL.
