Hotaru was the only reason i finished the series. The jokes rarely made me laugh. It might have actually been better as a show if it was a more serious slice of life.at the end i just wanted to know more about how hotaru was gonna make a dagashi empire

I wish they had gone the route of Oshiete! Gyaruko-chan and made Dagashi Kashi as a bunch of shorts. Instead we got filler and extra Saya rather than more of the Dad chapters.

I'm curious about that too. To be honest, I'm curious about her entire backstory. Did she grow up lonely? What little's been revealed seems to point that way and Kokonotsu, Tou, and Saya appear to be her only friends.
