Yes it did get canceled. The cancellation notice came at the very beginning of that final future ark. Around the time time they were having fights in the shelter. Because he had just started a new arc iirc they basically told him he has 20 chapters to finish (I might be wrong on the exact #)

This is an easy one. Saturn Apartments is such a simple thing on such a grand scale. Window washing in space would be even more impressive animated.
Someone should take that Elfen Lied manga and turn it into a two-cour anime series, but actually animate the gore properly, include all the characters, and use the entire plot.

Tropic of the Sea by Ghibli would be pretty sweet I reckon, they'd really be able to nail down the themes of industrialization vs nature quite well. Then again I doubt any Kon related manga would ever get the greenlight for anime adaptations now that he's been dead for a while and Madhouse probably have a good stranglehold on any future productions in his name.
7 Seeds by Ghibli would also be good as would Blazing Transfer Student by Trigger, since Gainax probably won't sink money into more now.
