Even sourcefags usually rate Joseph pretty high.
He was a pretty cool main character.

Meant to put Joseph at top there. Fucked up. Never mind. Ignore me.

He and Giorno have the same problems, in my opinion. He's better in the anime, honestly, because it's pacing is a lot better than the manga.

Nevermind, your taste is shit.

Jolyne is basically female Joseph. What's your problem with him at the top, but not with Jolyne that high?
>>141014361
Jonathan was fantastic in the manga and stood out from the rest of the Joestars, people may call his personality type bland and uninteresting but in comparison to the other Joestars it's pretty unique. Not every Joestar needs to be a suave charismatic anti-hero that plays by his own rules, completely ruthless without morale.
Not to say the other Joestars are bad, just not that appealing to me.Outside of GappyI like Gappy, he's pretty great.

I thought Johnny was a much improved Johnathan for that reason. Both are honestly good people with strong dedication and honor, Johnny's just written by a more experienced writer with a better grasp on how to keep him interesting.

Johnny would've eaten out Valentine's asshole if it meant he could walk again.
He would've killed Gyro during their first meeting if it meant that he could walk again, he's completely without moral and focused only on his internal goal of regaining use of his legs. Johnny is a great character but him and Jonathan are very different.

That seems completely inaccurate to me. Once he gets it in his mind that Gyro can help him, he has a number of ways he could go about getting Gyro to do it. Once it becomes clear that Gyro won't be easily convinced, Johnny decides that the best way to do it is to prove to Gyro that he's worthy of it, buys an asshole of a horse, and gets beaten the fuck up for days to figure out how to ride it. Both he and Gyro learn from each other, and Johnny has a lot to give in that way, even as he has a lot to learn. Like I said, I think he has the merits of Jonathan, along with better characterization, so that he has a personal arc. Jonathan's story is very much about dealing with Dio, and while it's fun, and I like Part 1 more than most probably, Jonathan himself doesn't do much growing after he reaches adulthood.

Jotaro.
