I started reading the manga since the anime opening and the first 3 episodes were hyping me up. "The day has come" line especially gave me chills.
I have been severely disappointed by what I have read. I had to stop around chapter 60. Things were getting nowhere and character build up was handled poorly. Too simple and too cliche from what I was expecting to see. It's not bad, but it didn't reach my expectations for it. He never truly spills his spaghetti other than a few times with the girl, she actually start spilling it too later on which was cute. But his attitude is the least of the problems with the series. I don't even hate it, it just bored me.

It wasn't bad visually. But do you know the sheer amount of manga and anime that have good visuals? I don't even nitpick what I see. As they say in shounen, I follow my "heart". None of the battles got me excited and really pumped up as one punch man which is a series with barely any story. None of the drama hit me emotionally as hunter x hunter did, a series that really didn't get heavy until chimera arc which is far into the story but somehow kept me going before I reached it with hints here and there of what was to come.
Really I guess I'm just tired of coming of age stories. The final straw was when they decided to go on a trip with the class on summer. I'm sure many enjoy that, but it's not what I'm looking for and it wasn't what I was expecting to see 60 chapters in.

It's okay, not every manga has to be your cup of tea.
I think what drew a lot of people to the series was things that the series does slightly different/better than many of the recent big series - a brisk pace, American hero costumes, the insane level of quality it gets to sometimes and All Might.
Granted, the fights aren't super flashy (and it is stuff we've seen before), but it's still enough to stand from the crowd (the manga definately, though the anime is struggling to translate this into a 30 minute tv show).

It's all in the presentation. The reason the fights got me excited is because even if I knew in the end Saitama would win, the struggles the others had got to me. And really, in what shounen do we not know that the hero will win? They only work more for it. And combine that with his nonchalant way of winning? That is just pure badassery in my book. Along with the way he wins aka literally blasting the rain back to the sky, opening the clouds, making his scream of "I forgot the sales" to sound like the name of his attack. It's funny, clever and badass.
In hero academia you get battles, but I felt no tension in them. It's just kids struggling against bad guys. No one will truly die in battle. Or at least it won't be shown. It's like I was watching the power rangers. And all might's 2 vs 1 fight? Come on man, it's just a bloody test. All might is badass as fuck but we all know this will end with happy laughs in the end....but in a sappy way. That's it. Hero academia truly feels like a kids show, that's what gets to me. I can't stomach it. It's not that I need al blood and gore and shit. But I'm just no good with shows like these.
Stain was good, but it just felt too forced. I really don't know what else to say or how to explain it. It just felt forced to me. A lot in the story feels forced. Like it wants to touch more mature topics but wants to keep it for kids at the same time. It didn't help that he reminded me of the teenage mutant ninja turtles.

He's been absolutely nothing but an utter and complete asshole to him ever since they were kids, even before he got his powers and his superiority complex. I mean sure, Deku looks up to him, but that's not what one could call friendship in any shape or form.
I've heard this manga was compared to Nurutu, but their relationship (asshole guy and lonely guy, not to mention the landwhales shipping them) is basically the only thing that really reminds me of that shit. Hell, IIRC Sauce was nicer to Naruto than Katsuya ever was to Deku.
