Basically,they could all make a wish, his wish was so when she was fatally wounded she didn't die, but he still threw himself in the middle of her and a spear, he didn't help much though because she "died" anyway (his wish became true here) so basically he sacrificed himself for nothing (though I think it was later revealed that she'd have actually died from that because the wish could only heal her so much and if she took the full hit she'd die anyway), also, like, these guys were shipped pretty hard and after a confession an "I know" is pretty troll.
