I know it's not anime, but I started studying every martial arts style from Avatar. Though, I had already been doing other styles of martial arts before that. Actually, whenever I see fight scenes in anime I usually try to do them myself or use similar techniques in real life.

Basically we were coming in from recess and some 8th grade bully who normally does rounds on the 5th and 6th for money was coming like usual. (my friend and I literally joined mid semester cause our old school lost funding thanks to a scandal and everyone had to find different places to go.) either way we didn't know about the hierarchy until later. so thinking this was just some random shake down we got in our heads the idea to be heroes of the class and fight back, so i yell out "akumaru transform" and do the whole dialog spiel and my friend gets on my back like pic related, we finish and rush the kid and managed to get him to the ground and start scratching and biting him. he runs and we think we're heroes but most of the kids are looking in horror like we're retarded or something (probably were). we didn't get into disciplinary trouble but it turns out that the 8th grader wasn't even the real bully, just the lackey to the real group, and when they found out we attacked their lackey they found us the next day, beat us up, and threw us in the dumpster. looking back it probably was hell of funny to see. god we were such weabs but I'll miss my friend we were inseparable until HS after that.
