There are no lingering effects here proportional to what he experienced, it's even treated as a gag, so what was the point of making something so big in scale? After all, if you can defend yourself, you would do so instead of trying to find a way to talk thing through when things go bad. Rather than pissed, I'd argue it would be more that people would be less willing to toy around with him, talk to him and let him try to understand them. It's one thing to stand around talking shit and firing off spells at the guy who is surviving them just barely, dodging and never getting much closer to you until right at the end, but it's entirely another to waste time talking after a guy just shot you in the chest or you've already been punched several times in the face or kicked around.
So in that manner Othinus' talk of not using weapons or martial arts to let Touma further understand his enemies it makes sense, though maybe he could take some lessons in how to dodge and run around better, though he seems to do pretty well already.

Literally for years I have been waiting to get to Aleister, and then Kamachi just totally sidesteps every single little keikaku hint and ominous hype that we have received from him and Aiwass, only to move on to something that seems so far above his level or anyone else's. Magic Gods are the worst thing to have happened in Index.
Just based on how much the author likes to create new elements means even if Kamchi rushed right to the end would need to have a volume address things like who is Index and her past. What is going to happen to Mikoto and her new powers. When will Takitsubo become a level 5 and how will that impact the city. Who is Laura and what are her plans? Will have to introduce the 6th level 5. I would be a little surprised if this current Mikoto and Kihara story ended by NT18.

Overall I am enjoying this sense of how little power Touma has.
