Golden Week is a national holiday week where a lot of people have off from work. I believe the only places that are still open during this time are stores and restaraunts, just like with every other holiday.tfw I'm a server and I work literally every single holiday except Christmas Day.

Anime episodes are generally already finished so that wont interrupt their airing plus it would be stupid to turn off programming for a whole week when you have a chance to increase your viewership ratings while everyone is chilling at home.
