Hey /a/, I just started reading Berserk, will it stay this awesome all the way through? Or is it overhyped?

Dont listen to that faggot, Berserk is fucking great all the way through. It was slow during the Boat Arc, but that was only because people had to wait a long while for some chapters.

One thing I don't like about Berserk is that his eye is just closed. Come on! An eyepatch or a headband to cover it up is cliche but it just being closed all the time is lame and looks weird.

Depends on your taste, really. I enjoy the entire thing, while some keep nagging how it gets worse after golden age, or after conviction arc, or after Virtannis, etc.
There's been less edge in recent chapters, so I guess it might turn some people off.
It'll change, but whether it'll be a good or bad change is really down to your own preference.

Generally good. One thing to remember is, once Guts gets on the boat, there's a ~10-year gap in real (read: our) time between him getting on the boat, and him getting off the boat.

My brother recommended it to me since I liked the Dark Souls series so much, the games are heavily influenced by Berserk and I can see why

The quality of writing definably drops, since it goes form military tactics in the golden age arc to fighting supernatural monsters with a group of weirdos. And all of it is basically one giant revenge quest. It's still entertaining as hell though.
