The live action was a great game adaptation, with an authorial touch (miike is a pretty famous director with an interesting edge) and full of references and easter eggs.
Also the ost was godlike and the camera work skillfull and interesting.
One fucking compelling movie if you ask me, it also had a better pacing and more attention to details (gumshoe sharpening his ear pen, manfred overseing edgeworth cases, the spectators all dress strangely so the main characters don't look out of place, at the end, after te credits, you Can even see adrian Andrews in the background), but it's obvious that miike is a competent director and this anime's isn't, I shouldn't even make the comparison.

It's pretty long, 2 hours and half I think.
It's mostly the dl6 case/last case that takes the most screen time, and rightly so.
But it's worth it, a really interesting work, the best vidya movie by a long shot; in the whole movie only Redd White is debatable as an adaptation, but I think that miike's chaaracter fits the ace attorney style, with an original breakdown too (that is a reference to Mike Meekins); it's mostly Manfred and Yanni Yogi that steal the show, a friend of mine prefers movie manfred to the game one and another straight up teared up at Yanni's flashback... It made me see the characters with other eyes for sure.

Yes. Keep in mind this was one of the first VN type games for console ever localized. It was an experiment, and they wanted way more people than just weebs to buy it. While having gameplay mixed in with the story helped, making it seem to take place in America really made the difference. With the appetite for these types of games now they could have gotten away with not changing anything, but Ace Attorney created that appetite.

There's nothing stopping a ghost from telling you who done it, but a ghost's testimony isn't evidence and evidence is everything* in a court of law. In every other case she just appears to tell you that the answer is there and you just need to turn your thinking around.

The show isn't doing the games justice at all. The animations and the music are huge parts of the games' atmosphere, and they fuck both of those up. The former cuts into the characters. The overall visual direction in this episode was also embarrassing, particularly around the time that they were discussing the wiretap. Furthermore, the plot line is condensed, and a lot of the drama is lost. Just about the only nice thing that I have to say about the anime is that Aoi Yuuki is awesome, as usual.
You also have to remember that these cases were set up around having the players solve puzzles, and all of the cut-in sounds along with much of the evidence are centered around that. The anime is lazy as shit, and hasn't done a whole lot to make PW better suited for the medium.
