Basically if you loved DM you'll love this movie if you hate it you won't be able to appreciate it. It's incredibly well written and very DM-esque and it seems to combine the best aspects of the manga and the original anime rather than be a full on sequel to the manga which I'm fine with. It's literally Kaz farewell gift to the fans of the original series. I totally understand why the duels weren't very long or took up screentime to make way for more important things like the plot and characters. It ended on as strong a note as the original series. To be honest I don't think most of it was "needed" but I'm glad we got it anyways.

There were a lot of movie pack cards that didn't make it into the actual movie. Likewise there were cards in the movie that didn't make it to the pack. I feel the upcoming structure deck might build upon this more seeing as we're getting new versions of both Yugi and Kaiba's cards. DM and Blue-Eyes are also on the SD posters so it's possible they're getting more new cards as well. The Pharoah's Memory pack is also a great way to put in more support for them too.

Which summoning method (aside from Pendulum) is best to summon a vanilla special monster? For example, Overlaying to summon an Xyz vanilla, Tuning to summon a Synchro vanilla, regular Ritual spell card to summon a Ritual vanilla, or Fusing with normal Polymerization to summon a Fusion vanilla? Necessary for Kaiba's development, didn't overshadow Yugi, wasn't even in the movie for that fucking long. Yugi is still his own man and doesn't need Atem.
Atem is the source of Kaiba's madness and they are literally eternal rivals; two halves of the same whole. Their rivalry spans thousands of years. They have such a deep and connected personal history to one another. It's simply in Kaiba's nature. It's something he cannot let go of easily. Atem is basically like his first real friend and he just wants to play with his friend.
It's a really fitting end. I can't see why anyone would be mad about it. If you think Atem popping in for a couple of minutes destroys all of Yugi's character that's complete bullshit. It does not erase the achievements and strides Yugi has made. Yugi has grown up so much that he even has his own dream, his own goal in life to become a game designer which is especially fitting since he's always loved games.
