Her obsession with retribution comes from the fact that she wants to settle the score with her father, but physically can't. She obsessed with seeing that people get punished as a way of coping with that inability to get the revenge she wants. She came on this trip to escape the abuse, and describes it as 'protecting her identity' because her dad was trying to force her to behave a certain way and follow a certain path that she didn't want by being physical. She l;ashes out because deep down, she's terrified that anybody not punished severely for their transgressions will end up targeting her, and she'll be helpless to stop it just like she was with her dad.
She just settled on 'execution' as the means of retribution because she's a 14 year old girl.

If there were powerlines connected to any major plant, then the village wouldn't be lost.
They probably have a water table running beneath the town that they tap for fresh water and I assume what little power is needed is generated by consumer-sized gas-powered generators, or else they've got some sort of town-sized plant that the rest of the houses are hooked up to. They probably don't have central heating or AC and just use stoves in the winter and small electric fans or AC units in the summer. There's surprisingly little you actually need a major source of electricity for as long as you have other sources of fuel.

I think it´s pretty ambitious itself. And yet it handles most of it just fine. The space setting including the technical details is pretty great. The characters are indistinguishable from their earlier self after the show. And that atmosphere of danger/being locked in a hostile environment is superb. Just the angst is a little high but that´s to be expected with the characters being teens/kids.
It'd be funny if this all ended up being part of some prank show with hidden cameras everywhere.

An astronaut training center in space is attacked by some mysterious dudes, killing all adults on board and leaving hundreds of kids stranded in space, having to deal with their stuff on their own. It's basically Lord of the Flies, seeing how the characters grow through the show and how they slowly become insane is pretty interesting.
